Collection

As of summer 2023, the Library collection has:

• 1,621,704 ebooks 
• 161,680 print format books 
• 193,496 electronic journals, magazines, newspapers and other serials 
• over 200 databases and other discovery tools
• over 200,000 streaming videos
• 2,000+ DVDs 

By spring 2018, the Special Collections had put 1,632 digitized items online, freely available to the public:

• The Internet Archive collection hosted 828 digitized books and newspapers, including John Jay's full run of yearbooks. There were 113,600+ views total of John Jay material in the Internet Archive.
• The Digital Collections contained 805 digitized items. There were 85,600+ views total of the Digital Collections.

Visits

In 2017-18...

There were over 363,000 visits to the Lloyd Sealy Library.

John Jay librarians answered over 13,600 questions at the Reference Desk, on the phone, by email, and by chat/text.

There were over 1.4 million pageviews of the Library’s website, viewed in 196 countries total.

Library faculty members taught John Jay students in 238 classes and 50+ workshops.
