The Lloyd Sealy Library currently has over 100 computers available for student, faculty, and staff use. Both Macs and PCs are available.

Funds from the Student Technology Fee have made the purchase of Library computers and databases possible.

Where can I type and print papers in the Library?

Lower level: The Reserve Room is the Library's main computer lab. PCs and iMacs are equipped with the same software available in the other campus labs, including Microsoft Office, SPSS, Adobe Creative Suite, and more.

Computer lab assistants are available to provide help during most open hours. During peak times, the Reserve Room Lab has extended hours (see schedule).

Upper level: 32 computers are equipped with Microsoft Office and lab software, including SPSS. These PCs are located near the glass wall by the Reference Desk and on the upper deck toward the back of the Library.

Additional computers upstairs are available as designated web research workstations. These do not have Microsoft Office or lab software.

Printers, scanners, and copiers are located near the computers on both floors of the Library.

Other labs on campus

John Jay maintains other computer labs elsewhere on campus. (See real-time availability info about other labs.)

Students can borrow Mac/PC laptops and iPads from the Laptop Loan Center in the New Building and use them in the Library.
