This course introduces students to the fundamental principles of academic research, information retrieval, critical evaluation of sources, and ethical use of information. Students will learn to:
- navigate library resources
- identify reliable information
- effectively integrate sources into their academic work.
Goals
After this Library Instruction Session you will be able to:
- Formulate effective research questions.
- Identify and locate relevant library resources (e.g., databases, books, journals).
- Develop effective search strategies using keywords and Boolean operators.
- Critically evaluate the credibility and relevance of information sources.
- Understand and apply principles of academic integrity, including proper citation.
- Effectively organize and manage research materials.
